The course map seen to the right, is a rough idea of the race areas to be used for the events
of 2000. The (x) mark in the lower left of the map shows the beginning of the 4 1/2 mile swim across Lake Chatuge
to be done in July. It starts at the Fieldstone Inn docks in Hiawassee GA and ends at the Chatuge Dam in Hayesville
NC. (this is also pictured in the satellite photo below).
The 3 triathlons will start at the Chatuge Dam, but each race will take a unique bike and running course. No two
races will be the same. The duathlon course is circled to the right of the map. It will be the site of the mountain
bike race as well. The duathlon course will be a 4 mile run, a 12 mile bike and a 2 mile run. There will be a 35
mile road bike race as shown above with arrowed line, starting at the Chatuge Dam and winding around the foothills
of Hayesville and Tusquitee then back to the Dam to finish. I will have updated maps of each individual race at
